The body is a model which can stand for any bounded system, its boundaries can represent any boundaries that are threatened or precarious
Mary Douglas.
Purity and danger

INFO

Working at the border between documentary and speculative fiction, drawn to the bodies, archives and systems that decide who gets to belong. Her films move between registers that constantly inform one another: an intimate, archival gaze that returns to what was left unsaid and a speculative one, which borrows the language of fiction to estrange the present: genetic technologies recast as a new racial hygiene, astronauts-in-training reveals young people carrying the weight of gender, colonial history and inherited expectation.

Across her work, young people recur as figures caught between systems they did not build — a clandestine cab, a training program, a drone’s-eye view of flight — searching for small freedoms. Migration and displacement run quietly underneath much of this work, as does an interest in how technology and inherited history script the body long before a person has any voice.
